Our life is nothing short of an adventure...

Wind in our hair and screams of delight but also unpredictable turns and unknown outcomes. We are a family of six; Dave, Susie, Nate, Jake, Sam, and Bella.

God has been faithful in our marriage and through the birth and blessings of our boys.

God has been faithful during our adoption journey and united Bella with us in May of 2008. We were privileged to visit with Bella's birth mother; therefore, Bella's family in Guatemala will always be dear to our hearts.

On October 16, 2008, Bella was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia. We are now battling the disease with 2 years and 3 months of treatment. We believe God will continue to be faithful!

Our family is committed to living life to the fullest...even on the hard days. Thank you for checking in and journeying with us!

The many faces of Bella

Oh this girl.....we just love her! The photos above are her many faces. Until last night, she DID NOT like bath time. I mean, she literally threw a tantrum when going in to the tub. I decided to take my sisters advise and gradually get her used to the idea. I let her play in her ducky tub for a while, even let her sit in it nakes )of which she of course pee'd), then I ran the water with her on may lap and she screamed, then I let he sit on the side of her tub, she screamed, then I filled her tub with bubbles and a light up rubber ducky, put her in, she cried for a second, got distracted by the bubbles and duck, and was totally happy. Tonight, she cried again, put her in with the bubbles and duck, totally fine. Crazy Girl. She also has this face she makes when she gets tired or agitated. She takes both hands and makes fists and shakes her head...thus, her in the high chair. Lastly, she loves the swing in the back yard, she laughs and laughs. And bare butt time....I get the feeling she didnt get any of that at the orphanage, because she's all about it!

I am waiting for one more set of pictures and will then be putting together a slide show of our homecoming. It was a great moment, took my breath away.

Were doing great, still tired, but Bella is adjusting really well. Please pray for all families waiting to bring their children home from Guatemala. There are many changes that have taken place since September 07' when they announced the shut down of Guatemala adoptions. Around 2,800 children are currently stuck in the PGN part of the process. However, these are only the facts....for God is bigger and He is able, and these kids are coming home!

Blessings, Susie
